Landek national heritage sight [ National natural landmark ]

(Ostrava-Petřkovice)
- A protected area of 85.53 ha, on a hill above the confluence of the Odra and Ostravice rivers and home to valuable flora, including beech trees over 150 years old and even some hot-climate plant life. The site contains evidence of Central European Stone Age settlements, having been used as a camping site by communities of mammoth hunters and earlier cultures. The exposed carbon layers in Hrušov and Petřkovice are unique examples of coal seams stretching to the surface. The Landek Venus (also known as the Petřkovice Venus, a stone statue of a woman's body) was unearthed in the vicinity. The site has a market tourist trail.
